InstaFriday

Things have been crazy this week with the holiday and having guests, so for now, I’m just sharing some InstaFriday love.

Painted faces

My parents organized an event called Celebrate America in my hometown this past weekend, so the boys and I did a quick day trip. I was so proud of my parents — the event was amazing! The boys had a fabulous time. They got their faces painted…

Can't get Mason away from the choo chops.

… and saw some trains. Mason was obsessed with these trains. The one guy kept joking that they were going to charge us by the hour to look at them, because we had to have showed up at their booth 15 times. This man was super sweet and took Mason around to all the trains and told him about each one.

Summer picnics on the patio are the best.

I realize it's really irritating when people talk about how cute their kids are, but seriously. Come on.

I realize that people who talk about how cute their kids are all the time are crazy annoying. But, I mean. Seriously, look at this face. Come on.

Sorry I'm about to eat you, little fella.

This little fella is Phil the lobster. My wonderful husband got him for me, even though he is allergic. I had a seriously hard time with the idea of a live lobster, and had to leave the room when he put him in the pot. I didn’t like to think about him becoming…

The after pic of Phil the lobster. He was delicious!!

… this. Now don’t get me wrong, he ended up being delicious, but I didn’t like to look him in his beady little eyes knowing I was about to eat him. It skeeved me out.

Because this is what I was hoping my kitchen would look like today.

So this happened in my kitchen.

It seems that Mason has finally overcome his fear of mascots. He is crazy obsessed with Ike and Nookie from the Spikes.

Feet don't fail me now! About to run my first-ever race!

A photo posted by Jenn – Endlessly Inspired (@endlessly.inspired) on

I ran my very first race on the 4th of July! It was only a 4K, but it was HOT.

Apparently I wasn't supposed to eat the donuts. πŸ™‚

And this is what I found on the counter when I came down that morning. Apparently this is not what Dave thought I should eat before running. πŸ™‚

Post-race. I didn't die, I wasn't the first to walk, and I wasn't the last to finish. I consider it a success.

I did it! I didn’t die, I wasn’t the first to walk, and I wasn’t the last to finish. I consider it a success. And having these 3 cuties {plus the one taking the photo} there to cheer me on was more than I could have hoped for. Love these monkeys!

Congratulations at the race! I agree it sounds like you did great. I plan to do my first this December, but it is a mud run obstacle course, but I’m still gonna try. I like you picnic blanket. I always see the ones with stripes.

Thanks so much! I am also doing a mud run this fall, and I am terrified! πŸ™‚ My 5-year-old’s preschool class actually made that blanket, and I won it at their school auction. It works perfect as a picnic blanket!!
