High Five for InstaFriday

I didn’t do a High Five for Friday post last week because we had company over the holidays and everything got a little crazy. So I am combining two weeks of High Fives into one.

High Five for Friday1. We have had some absolutely awful storms lately {including one that produced golf ball-sized hail and caused thousands of dollars of damage to our siding — no high five for that one}, but after one, we had the most beautiful double rainbow. And naturally, all it made me think of was this. And I died laughing once again. One of the best YouTube videos ever. Ever.

2. I mentioned this briefly in my InstaFriday last week, but I wanted to give myself a high five for it too. I ran my first-ever race on July 4th. It was only a 4K, but considering I have never really run, well … ever in my life, I was so proud of myself for doing it.

3. I mentioned earlier in the week that David had a booth at Kids’ Day at Arts Fest where he sold melted crayon art and shaped crayons. He did such an amazing job, I was so proud of him! He started the day with 17 crayon art canvases and ended up selling out of them! We have a ton of crayon shapes left, but he still made over $100 in profit, which he was so, so proud about. The poor kid was so exhausted that night, but he was a trooper all day. {And an additional shout-out/high five to my wonderful parents who drove over six hours round trip that day to come and help at the booth. I don’t think I could have done it without them!}

4. Con Man got to see his BFF Eli yesterday for the first time in about a month. He and his family spend the majority of their summer at their lake house, so they were missing each other like crazy. You can tell they were just a bit happy to see each other.

5. My Paint Chip American Flag was featured on this week’s Marvelous Mondays on Call Me PMc!

And now for some InstaFriday love:

Oh, this face.

Next time they're yelling at each other, I'm going to look at this picture.

I walked into the living room earlier this week to find D and Mason snuggling on the couch like this. Next time they’re fighting, I’m going to show them this.

A box full of crayon-y goodness! David started with 17 of these pieces of crayon art, and he ended up selling out! And I’m even more proud of him considering that there were at least two other booths selling melted crayon art as well.

Apparently the pretzels and cheese snack pack did not include enough pretzels.

Apparently the pretzel and cheese snack pack didn’t come with enough pretzels. That’s ok, because Mason just used his fingers.

When I left to get the car towards the end of the day, he had three canvases left. When I got back, he had one, and he was doing his best to market it. 🙂

Hangin' with the bookends.

When Connor was at camp on Thursday, I got to hang out with my bookends. We went to the People’s Choice Arts Festival and Mason was obsessed with this little train ride.

Just when I’m ready to give D away, he goes and does something like this: he brought his arts fest money to the people’s choice festival, and the first thing he bought was something for Mason. I guess he’s a keeper after all.
