Women’s football attire has come a long way over the past several years. Companies are now making cute, fitted t-shirts and jerseys, rather than the old, boxy muumuu-style clothes that used to be the only option.
But those boxy old bad boys are what fill up thrift stores, so that’s why I collected 10 of my favorite t-shirt refashion tutorials. Some require a sewing machine, and some are no-sew, but they’re all adorable, and they’ll all help make you the cutest one at your tailga
I just love this ruffled neck shirt tutorial from In a Shoe. So easy, it would take hardly any time at all!
Because the tutorial for this strapless drawstring shirt from I Love to Create has you turning the shirt upside down, making the bottom hem the top of the shirt, it wouldn’t work for a traditional team shirt with a logo, but it would be adorable made from a patterned, team-colors shirt.
This latticed, studded t-shirt refashion from Wobi Sobi is no sew, which means anyone can do it! And even better, it’s super easy too, so you can change up your shirt in just minutes!
I actually used this tutorial from Nic Howard last year, so I can attest to how easy it is. If you don’t want to use a piece of the t-shirt for the straps, you can switch it up with a piece of ribbon.
I would never have thought to make a peasant top out of a man’s t-shirt! This tutorial from My Gramma Said involves a bit more sewing than some of the others, but you can see from the picture that the end result is totally worth it!
This one-shouldered, ruffle-neck shirt from P.S. I Made this looks so cute, it’s hard to believe it started out as a plain old t-shirt.
This strapless tunic from Instructables is another shirt that turns upside down {you won’t believe how easy those pockets are!!}, so you’ll need a shirt without a logo for this one.
I can’t take the cuteness of this halter top from Trinkets in Bloom {for I Love to Create}. I think this is going to be my next t-shirt refashioning undertaking!!
I love that you can start with a t-shirt and end up with something totally different! This DIY project from VMG206 uses several old t-shirts to make an adorable team scarf. Perfect if you aren’t a big t-shirt wearer or for those games when it gets a little chilly outside!
And finally, who couldn’t use another bag?!? This tutorial from Wild Onion Studio shows just how easy it is to turn a t-shirt into a tote.

These are really fantastic ideas! I try to reuse old t-shirts by cutting them up into rags – this is a wonderful way to give the shirts more life before they are rags!
