Back-to-School Shopping & $250 #NordstromRack Giveaway

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom Rack, but as always, all opinions are entirely my own.

Today was the first day of school for the big boys. David is now in 4th grade {what?!? When the heck did that happen?!?}, and my little Con Man is now a first grader.

David getting to the age where he wants to make all of his own choices when it comes to clothes, and those choices are almost entirely a t-shirt and basketball shorts. Even in the dead of winter. If I ever suggest an item of clothing, for example a golf shirt or — heaven forbid — shorts that aren’t made of mesh, he acts like I’m making him wear a princess dress.

Except on the first day of school. The first day of school and picture day are the only days that I get to have a say in what he wears. It’s very exciting for me.

But unfortunately, I live in central Pennsylvania, in a town where there are about four stores to choose from, which means that even if I find a great outfit for him during back-to-school shopping, odds are that at least three other kids at school will be dressed identically.

Online shopping to the rescue! Especially one of my very favorite sites, Nordstrom Rack

I have so much fun on that site, it’s pretty much just ridiculous. They carry fabulous finds and top brands from Nordstrom — at up to 70% off! New arrivals are added every week, which means there’s always something fun to discover, and all items ship in 1-2 days. Plus, they offer free shipping on orders over $100 {shipping to US, Canada and Australia}, easy 90-day returns to stores, and you can earn Nordstrom Rewards.

Jackpot.

I picked out a crazy cute back-to-school outfit for D {just don’t let him hear me call something “cute” — he’ll avoid it like the plague} for less than $75, including shoes! If you’ve purchased sneakers for a 9-year-old boy recently, you’ll realize what a deal that is.

Michael Kors Gingham Dress Shirt – $19.97 // Urgent Gear Gee Rip Stop Cargo
Short
 – $18.97 // Xti Suede Sneaker – $34.97

And naturally, when I was done with that, I just had to go check out what I could find for me. I mean, Back-to-School Night is in a few weeks, and I certainly don’t want to embarrass my children by showing up dressed poorly, right? Really, I’m only thinking of them. I’m a giver, people.

Two by Vince Camuto Roll Tab Tunic – $26.97 // Christopher Blue Isabel Ankle
Skinny Jean
– $35 // Zigi Karisma Wedge Sandal – $17 // 14th and Union Beaded Tassel Necklace – $14.97 // 14th and Union Gold Hoop Earrings – $8.96

I just love the bright colors and fun necklace. I’m also a huge sucker for wedges, even if they do turn me into a giant. Plus, the entire outfit, head-to-toe, was just over $100! You can’t beat that.

Back-to-school shopping {or any shopping, for that matter} is way better when you do it with friends, so Nordstrom Rack is giving away a $250 gift card to one lucky reader! Enter using the widget below, and good luck!

Do your kids let you pick out clothes for them, or do they want to dress themselves?
