Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport – Sprint Ambassador

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating. #SprintMom #sponsored

For the past few months, I’ve been a Sprint Ambassador, which means that I get to try out all sorts of newfangled goodies from Sprint and let all of you know what I thought of them. {For my thoughts on the HTC One Max Harmon/Kardon edition, click here, and to learn more about the Kyocera Hydro Vive, go here!}

This month, I got to try out the new Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport.

The new Sprint-exclusive Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport features the ultimate mobile solution for today's active lifestyles.

This phone could not have come at a better time. For a couple of reasons.

First, Dave and I have both been talking about getting into better shape, so we’ve been using various fitness apps and playing music on our phone during our workouts. If I ever run or walk without my phone, I feel totally lost.

Second, Dave decided he would try this phone out so I could get another perspective on it. So a couple of weeks ago, he was going on a business trip to Maryland, where he would be staying in an area that had a running path around a large lake, so at the last minute, he threw the Galaxy in. Good thing, because one second he’s getting his current phone out of his pocket, and the next, it looks like this.

So he quickly went from “testing the phone out a bit” mode to “oh, crap, this is my only phone” mode. Which can sometimes be not so great.

But he was actually thrilled with Galaxy. His favorite thing about it was that it came pre-loaded with a ton of apps like MapMyFitness, Spotify {and it includes 3 free months of Spotify Premium!}.

If you’ve never used MapMyFitness before, it’s a fantastic app for tracking your workouts. It uses GPS to record details about your workout such as duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation, calories burned and route traveled on an interactive map. It’s great if you know you want to run, bike or walk a certain distance, but you don’t know exactly what route to take to get there. It also gives you the option to record all of your workouts so you can see at a glance the progress you’ve been making.

One of the coolest features is the S Health integrated mobile platform, which is an integrated mobile health platform to access health info, map out your workouts, and make healthier eating choices. It can even measure your heart rate when you touch the back of the phone! How cool is that?

What I love about this phone is that it’s great for people of all fitness levels. Avid runners, walkers, bikers and exercisers will love having all of their fitness information in the palm of their hand. But even if you’re just starting to work on getting into better shape and just the thought of running a mile makes you sweat, the Galaxy S 5 Sport can help you get into a great workout routine and encourage you to stay on track.

And with Sprint’s new Family Share Pack, you can now get you can get 20GB for a family up to 10 lines of shared data and unlimited talk & text for only $100 a month. That’s double the data at a lower price than AT&T and Verizon Wireless.

If you’re in the market for a new phone and either already have or are looking to create a more active lifestyle, check out the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport!
