Easy Snow Globe Sugar Cookies

Thanks to Nestle Toll House for sponsoring today’s discussion. #CookieDoughSheets #TollHouseTime #NestleTollHouse

I am a happy girl today, people. A happy, happy girl. Know why?

Because of some cookies and some cookie dough. Seriously. I’m a simple girl.

How cute are these snow globe sugar cookies?? They look so complicated, but the step-by-step directions make them so easy. And they're made with Nestle Rolled & Ready #CookieDoughSheets, so they can be made in no time at all. Totally pinning this to make these every year! #TollHouseTime #NestleTollHouse

I can’t even express in words how happy these Nestle Toll House Rolled & Ready Cookie Dough Sheets make me.

Decorating sugar cookies is one of my very favorite things to do during Christmas, but I really have no patience to make the dough, chill it, roll it out, and all that garbage. Too. Much. Work. I just want to jump right to the fun part of decorating.

I used to get a product similar to these a few years ago, but then they disappeared. And so did my desire to make sugar cookies.

Then I discovered that Nestle started making these, and I wanted to do a happy dance. {Ok, maybe I did actually do a happy dance. Who can be sure?}.

So I decided to show you how literally anyone can make adorable decorated sugar cookies — even if you have no baking or decorating ability. I mean, come on, how cute are these?? They look like little snow globes! I love them. And they literally take minutes to make.

Start off by cutting circles out of your Rolled & Ready Cookie Dough Sheets and cook them according to the package directions.

Now, whip up a batch of royal icing. Royal icing is one of those things that people are scared of, but it’s really not that hard to make. The key is meringue powder, which you can find in the baking aisle of pretty much any large grocery store or at craft stores like Michael’s, Joann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Spoon out a small amount of icing into a bowl and tint it green. Then just spoon both the green and the white icing into piping bags or zip-top bags. Snip off a small corner of each bag, and you’re ready to get decorating!

Start by piping a wavy line across the middle. This will be your hill. Then pipe around the rest of the circle to make an outline. Fill in that outline with white icing.

Pipe two circles on top of one of the hills for a snowman.

Next to him, pipe green icing in a widening zig-zag for a little Christmas tree.

I added on some snowflake sprinkles, which I adhered with tiny dots of royal icing, but you could always just do plain dots of icing for snowflakes or just leave them off entirely.

Now, it’s time to let everything dry. I would recommend letting them sit for several hours, even overnight if you can. I tend to get a little impatient though, so mine only sat for about 3 hours.
