Support Youth Soccer with #PasstheLoveBack

My kids have always been involved in sports. David started in soccer when he was 5, and since then has played football, baseball, basketball, and now his favorite sport is lacrosse. Connor has also been on teams for all those sports, but his main love is running. {I have no idea where he gets his running ability, but that kid is fast!}

After so many years of watching his brothers from the sidelines, Mason was so happy this year to finally start in a soccer program himself. He gets so excited to get his little shin guards and cleats on when it’s time to go to soccer, and I personally can’t take the cuteness of it.

I mean, seriously.

But the cute factor isn’t the only reason I love having my kids play sports. Kids are constantly taking on new challenges like juggling homework assignments, helping to take care of family pets and learning responsibility for their own actions. Sports like soccer are great for helping develop these skills and keeping kids active every day. I am particularly a fan of the responsibility factor, as that is something that my kids could use a little boost on.

{Particularly Connor. I adore that kid with all my heart, but for such a smart kid, he can be a complete and total space cadet sometimes. Last weekend, we were in the car on our way to his lacrosse tournament, and all of a sudden he yells “Oh NO! I forgot my stick!!!” His STICK, people. I don’t know how familiar you are with lacrosse, but sticks are a pretty important part of the game. I mean, seriously.}

So I proudly embrace my Soccer Mom role, because I love not only cheering them on from the sidelines, but it makes me so happy to see them learning life lessons from being part of a team. {However slowly that might be happening.}

We are extremely fortunate to live in a community with tons of different sports options and teams, but unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky. There are a lot of teams and communities out there who need financial help, and as the Official Snacks of U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer, Nabisco, the maker of OREO cookies, RITZ BITS and CHIPS AHOY! cookies multipacks, has announced the third year of the #PassTheLoveBack soccer program.

When it comes to soccer equipment and other team resources, local teams often have to find ways to support themselves. With the #PassTheLoveBack campaign, those teams can create sponsorship pages and rally their team members, friends, family and community to join in, connect with Nabisco and complete easy tasks to score points, which can be redeemed for custom apparel, including uniforms, t-shirts and warm-up gear.

Visit the Pass the Love Back website between now and May 31 to find out more and to register your soccer team, and find OREO, RITZ BITS and CHIPS AHOY multipacks at retailers nationwide.
