Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween, Day #17! If you missed any of the previous days, click here!

We love doing movie nights in our house, even though we haven’t had one in a while because of the craziness of everyone’s schedules this fall. But we just got a new deck, and we now have a TV outside {seriously, so much fun}, so they’ve been begging to do an outdoor movie night.

Since they watched the original Ghostbusters movie on one of our road trips this summer and loved it, we decided, now that the new Ghostbusters movie is out on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD {and the extended Blu-ray edition has over 15 more minutes not seen in theaters and over 3 hours of extras}, that should be our next movie night.

And for our movie night snacks, I’ve made a Ghostbusters snack mix and some ooey, gooey, green slime popcorn.

I love making snack mixes, because they are so easy to do, and my kids always get so excited about them. They’d be all ho-hum about a bowl full of pretzel thins, but throw in some cereal, mini M&Ms, marshmallows and some cute little candy melt creations, and they can’t stop eating it.

And, you can really throw in whatever you want. For mine, I used all the stuff I just mentioned, plus I piped out some little “no” symbols and a bunch of super cute little Slimer-inspired ghosts.

In case you were initially impressed by my artistic piping skills, don’t be.

First of all, I did not do all of these freehand. I printed out a whole page of the symbols and Slimers. I taped them to a sheet pan and then taped a piece of parchment on top of that, and then attempted to trace them.

I say attempted because some of my “no” symbols look like I was having some type of whole-body tremor when I piped them.

Check out that bad boy in the top left. That was my first attempt, and let me just say: yikes.

And we’re lucky that Slimer was not exactly a perfectly handsome fella, because some of those leave a little bit to be desired as well. {Tip: When piping Slimer, do his arms first, and then do his body on top. Works much better.}

But the important thing is that they look cute when they’re tossed into the mix, and the boys thought I was a genius. So there you go.

The green slime popcorn was a lot of fun to make too. It’s a similar recipe to Rice Krispies treats, but with a few yummy bonus ingredients.

Look at how ooey and gooey and delicious it is!

And the color of the slime is just about perfect — I used Americolor food coloring in Electric Green.

When I was at Walmart picking up the movie, I noticed a big Ghostbusters display for Walmart Family Mobile. Turns out that with the Plus Plan, you can get unlimited talk, text and data, which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE, plus a free movie on VUDU every month {a $7 value} per line for just $49.88.

Seriously, under $50! So crazy.

AND, any customer who activates a new line this month will receive a code providing a free download of the Ghostbusters VR Experience, which gives users the unique experience of firing a proton pack and looking at ghosts straight in the eye. It is crazy cool. To take advantage of this VR Experience, you just have to purchase your Walmart Family Mobile product, go online, register your phone and redeem the code you received when you purchased the phone. Then you just download the app from either the Apple Store or Google Play and pretend you’re a Ghostbuster!

David just got his own phone a couple of months ago, but neither of the other kids have one {well, Mason’s only 5, so, DUH that he doesn’t have his own phone}. Connor is at the age where he goes to various friends’ houses pretty much every day, and sometimes it’s hard to track him down. I occasionally lend him my phone, but I don’t like to be without it, so I don’t do that very often.

I decided to pick up a LG K7 phone {for only $49.88 on rollback from $89.88!} to have on hand for emergencies and for Connor to take with him when he heads off around the neighborhood.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was to purchase and set up. Since Family Mobile bills you later, in addition to the phone, I just had to buy a Nano starter kit, which was $19.88, on rollback from $25. I went online and within 5 minutes had a new, working phone.

To learn more about Walmart Family Mobile, check out one of the in-store events happening near you. Experts will be on hand to explain how to activate a new line and you can see the free Ghostbusters Virtual Reality Experience for yourself. While you’re there, pick up a brochure with details on the plans and VR experience and a plastic 3D hologram. To find an event near you, visit the Walmart Family Mobile Hub.
