Halloween Bark

Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween, Day #19! If you missed any of the previous days, click here!

If you're looking for a last-minute Halloween treat, you can't get much easier than this Halloween Bark!

Have you ever made candy bark? If not, you need to do it, stat. Because it’s pretty much the easiest, most versatile treat ever. You can make it in practically any color, and you can decorate it however the heck you want to. And it really is insanely easy. I’m almost positive that Mason could make this on his own, and he’s 5.

The basic steps are simple:

  1. Get candy melts.
  2. Melt them.
  3. Spread them onto parchment paper.
  4. Swirl in additional colors if desired.
  5. Top with sprinkles or whatever you want.
  6. Let set.
  7. Break into pieces.

Honestly, that’s it.

If you're looking for a last-minute Halloween treat, you can't get much easier than this Halloween Bark!

For this Halloween bark, I used a whole bag of bright white candy melts, and then about a quarter bag each of orange, vibrant green, lavender and black.

I melted those right in piping bags, but you could use zip-top bags or even bowls.

I just spread the white out relatively thin, and then piped on squiggly lines of the colors. Then I just swirled them together with a toothpick.

Once I had the perfect amount of swirliness {shut it, that’s a word}, I just sprinkled on a bunch of random Halloween sprinkles that I had, as well as candy eyeballs. {Of course I did. Because I put candy eyeballs on EVERRRTHING this time of year. Mason actually asked me last night if he could stick them all over himself. I said of course.}

Then I popped it into the fridge for 20 minutes or so, and when it was totally set, I broke it into pieces.

This would be such a fun addition to any Halloween party — or to any, you know, Tuesday.

If you're looking for a last-minute Halloween treat, you can't get much easier than this Halloween Bark!

Because how can you not be happy eating something that is so goshdarn cute?
