I have a new favorite thing in my house. It’s my Instagram heart photo display. {BTW, if you don’t follow me on Instagram, you should!}
I originally intended for this to just be a Valentine’s Day thing, but I totally fell in love with it, so this bad boy is staying for the long haul.
And it was so easy to put together, which makes it even better.
I started off messing around with the layout on graph paper until I finally found a size and shape I liked.
The layout I settled on uses a total of 55 photos, but you can play around and use more or less, depending on how many photos and how much space you have.
I printed the photos out using Printstagram, which I absolutely love. In the past, I have used Postal Pix, which was fine, but the quality of Printstagram is way, way better. They charge $12 for 24 prints {mine are 4″ x 4″}, so it doesn’t cost that much to do. And I ordered them on Wednesday evening and got them on Monday, so bonus points for quick shipping! {If you don’t use Instagram, you could also just use regular photos and cut them down into squares.}
I knew I was likely to get all out of kilter if I tried just slapping them up there, so I started with the bottom picture and put up the 7 center pictures first. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you get that first picture up there perfectly straight, especially if you are using that one to place the rest of the pictures. If that one is crooked, the whole thing is going to get wonky. Then I worked outward from those, row by row. I just used double-sided tape to stick them to the wall.
I had the whole thing up in about 1/2 hour, and the only reason it even took that long is because I am a crazy, anal-retentive freak and can’t stand to have things crooked, so I had to adjust several rows while I was working.
I can’t stop staring at it, I love it so much. It’s on our kitchen wall, which can also be seen from our family room, so I have plenty of opportunity to look at all the pictures.
You tell me: do you print out your Instagram pictures? How do you display them?

That’s wicked cute! I wonder how it would look in one of those giant poster frames, so that pictures could be swapped in and out over time?
