Mason turned 3 a few weeks ago {ok, it was in March. Whatever, I’m a slacker.}, so we had a Mickey Mouse party for him and his friends from preschool.
It was so much fun. This was the first birthday party we had for him, and it was so cute to see how excited he was about it.
I think his favorite part was the giant Mickey Mouse Airwalker Balloon. I ordered it through Amazon, but they have them at party stores as well {although they’re almost twice as much at the party store!}. I ended up getting a helium tank at Michael’s to fill it — I used a 40% off coupon, so it was only around $15. We were able to blow up balloons for the party as well, and still have some helium left for D’s upcoming birthday party, so I would highly recommend the tank.
I didn’t want to go to too much trouble for the party, but of course, being me, I had to do some fun stuff.
I made an awesome Mickey Mouse balloon wreath for the front door. {Tutorial for that coming soon!} Mason loved it so much that it had to stay up for a few weeks after the party.
I cut out ham, turkey and bread with a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter, and let the kids make their own sandwiches.
I served my Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops {click here for the full tutorial on those!} instead of a cake or cupcakes, because the thought of that mess made me sweat a little. I think the Oreo pops were as big of a hit with the grown-ups as they were with the kids!
We had mini pigs in a blanket {Hot Diggety Dogs!}, Scooby Snack graham crackers {Pluto’s Bones!}, and some other kid-friendly snacks.
I got almost all of my party decorations from Party Pail. I had never used them before this, but I can guarantee I will be using them again. The selection was amazing, and the prices were too.
I ordered the party favors from there, as well as the plates, napkins, flatware, and thank-you notes.
The shipping was quick, and the customer service was extremely friendly.
They have decorations for almost any theme you could think of, and their paper products are available in every imaginable color.
And now you have a chance to try them out too, because I am giving away a $25 Party Pail gift card! Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.

We just threw a “critter party,” full of bugs and alligators and dinosaurs and creepy crawlies. After cleaning up, I’m liking the cookie/cake pop thing, because I scrubbed blue dinosaur icing out of everything! Mickey Mouse might be a nice change for the one who will turn 4.

I would actually buy Mickey themed items because that is what we will be doing for my son’s upcoming 2nd birthday this summer! Would you ever want to sell your wreath??
Jenn says
You are so sweet! I wouldn’t want to sell this wreath, because Mason wouldn’t let me take it off the door for weeks, so it’s a little worse for the wear now. But I am working on a tutorial for how to make one of your own, and it will be up next week! 🙂
