We love football in this house. Yup, even me. I have two sisters and a dad who’s also a huge football fan, so I really didn’t have much of a choice. Then I married an even bigger football fan and gave birth to three more. Not only do I love the games, but tailgating is pretty awesome too. We also live in a college town, so we spend a huge part of every fall tailgating. How can you not love an event that lets you hang out with friends, drinking and eating foods like chips, dip, burgers, dogs and hot wings??
Last fall, I did a series of tailgating posts, so of course I’m doing that again this year! Throughout the fall, I will be sharing tips and tricks for a successful tailgate, as well as some projects and recipes that will make your tailgate the envy of all those around you. Today, I’m starting off with a tip for an almost no-effort meal and a quick and easy recipe.
A few days ago, I was shopping for some back-to-school supplies at Walmart, and I discovered that the Walmart deli now offers Tyson prepared wings — both bone-in and boneless, in flavors like BBQ, hot, and General Tso’s.
Seriously, they’re already hot, sauced and ready to go! They can be purchased in a Pick 3 Bucket, as a plated meal, or by the pound.
I was so excited to try the General Tso’s boneless wings that I got a couple of pounds right away, even though football season technically hadn’t even started. Dave had a fantasy football draft that day, so I figured that was close enough.
And, because I would eat cardboard if it was dipped in Kraft ranch dressing, naturally I had to whip up a fancy ranch dipping sauce to go with them.
The wings are sweet and spicy, and the sriracha-lime ranch is a perfect compliment.
Even better, the ranch takes approximately 14 seconds to make. Just pour your ranch into a bowl, and mix in a couple of tablespoons of sriracha {or more, if you like it really spicy!} and about a teaspoon of lime zest.
Slap your bowl on a plate, surround it with your wings, and you’ve got yourself a tailgating party.
Sriracha-Lime Ranch
Ingredients
- 1 cup Kraft Classic Ranch Dressing
- 1-2 Tbsp sriracha
- 1 tsp lime zest
Instructions
- 1. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients thoroughly. Serve with wings and/or veggies.

I could definitely spare 14 seconds to whip up this dip for my next football party. 😉 #client
