Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween, Day #7! If you missed any of the previous days, click here!
As you know, I am a dog person. I have always been a dog person, and I always will be a dog person. And I am one of those freakish dog people who goes a little bit bananas over dog costumes at Halloween.
Like, I seriously can’t take it. Especially if they have fake arms. Then, I mean, just stop.
Just. Stop.
Now that I have a dog of my own, I am beside myself excited to torment poor Fletcher this Halloween. Because Mason is going to be Han Solo, and because Fletcher is big and brown and furry, we are obviously planning on him being Chewbacca.
I ordered this costume for him, but unfortunately even the XXXL is a little too small on him, so I am going to have to whip something up on my own. We’ll see how that works.
In the meantime, though, feast your eyes on these hilariously adorable dog costumes, and let me know in the comments which of them is your favorite!
See previous comment about fake arms. And they’re holding a box. And there’s a visor. Come on.
2. Animal Planet Triceratops Dog Costume
I think my favorite thing about this one is the dog’s expression. He’s totally thinking, “Are you effing kidding me right now?”
3. Pup-A-Razzi Pop Queen Dog Costume
Because what dog wouldn’t want to wear a pointy bra and a high ponytail?? Although I have to say, I am super impressed that this dog isn’t trying to eat the microphone. That would have lasted about 13 seconds on Fletcher.
4. California Costume Collections Holy Hound Dog Costume
After that previous costume, I thought we might need a little religion up in here. He does not look like he approves of the pointy bra, just sayin’.
Absolutely dying at how much this dog actually looks like an Ewok. Love that little face!
6. Zack & Zoey Fuzzy Tarantula Costume
Have you ever seen the video in which this guy dresses his dog up in this costume and scares the bejesus about of people? If not, you need to watch it. It’s hilarious. I mean, it’s hilarious for me to watch it, but there is no doubt in my mind I would react like the two girls did when it came out of the elevator. And probably pee my pants.
In case the pointy bra isn’t your dog’s style, here’s a more tasteful coconut option.
8. Animal Planet Raptor Dog Costume
Ok, you need to do yourself a favor and click on this link to read the reviews of this costume. I kid you not, there are pictures of both a goat and a turkey wearing this costume. I can now tell you for certain: nothing will make your day like looking at a picture of a turkey dressed like a dinosaur.
9. NACOCO Pirates of the Caribbean Costume
As if the fake arms weren’t enough, one has a hook and one is on the dog’s “hip”. I can’t take it.
10. Star Wars Bantha Costume for Pets
Finally, my absolute favorite dog costume of all time: the bantha being ridding by a sand person. I would 100% be getting this for Fletcher if I wasn’t pretty certain that he would give himself whiplash trying to eat the horns that he can see from the corner of his eye. Mason is devastated that I won’t buy him this, but I promised him we’d try it in a couple of years, once he’s calmed down a touch.
So you tell me: is your dog dressing up for Halloween? What is he/she going to be?
