It’s Tailgating Tuesday, y’all! Whoop, whoop!
Today I’ve got a ridiculously easy {like, open-a-bunch-of-packages-and-dump-them-into-a-bowl kind of easy} cookies ‘n cream snack mix for you.
I love it because it’s not insanely sweet, but it’s definitely delicious. I made this for a tailgate a couple of weeks ago, and everyone went crazy over it. And like I said, it takes approximately 3 minutes to make. If that.
Have you ever had Hershey’s Cookies & Cream cereal puffs? That was my inspiration for this snack mix. My kids go crazy for it. It’s a little bit along the lines of Cocoa Puffs, but with some white-and-cookie puffs mixed in.
For some saltiness, I added some regular Pepperidge Farm goldfish — just the regular original cracker kind, not cheddar — and pretzel balls. I am in love with pretzel balls. They are the cutest little pretzels ever, and they are so perfect for this snack mix, because they’re almost exactly the same size and shape as the cereal. I got Great Value brand from Walmart.
Finally, I threw in some Hershey’s Cookies ‘n Cream drops. They’re a fun way to get some sweet chocolatey flavor in there without coating everything or using chocolate chips. Plus, they are a lot slower to melt, which makes them good for tailgating. {Although, if one were to perhaps serve this snack mix on a day when it’s approximately 95 degrees outside and accidentally leave it out, on the table, in the sun, while everyone went into the game, then it is likely that they will be melted into a giant snack mix blob. Not that I know this from experience or anything…}
You could also add in some chopped Oreos or some mini Oreos, but I decided to leave them out since I already had a lot of sweetness from the cereal and the Hershey’s drops. But if you want ’em, go nuts and toss them in there.
