Welcome to Day 8 of the 31 Days of Halloween!
I have one of the easiest Halloween treats ever for you today: monster lollipops. You really need absolutely no artistic ability or chocolate piping skills whatsoever. In fact, the wonkier the better, for these bad boys.
The key to these adorable little guys is candy eyeballs.
I love candy eyeballs. You can take anything at all and slap some candy eyeballs on there, and suddenly you have a super cute little treat.
I used three different kinds of these — small, large white, and large red. I got the small ones and large red ones at Michael’s, and I got the large white ones at Hobby Lobby, but you can find them at pretty much any craft store and even a lot of grocery stores.
Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment and putting your candy melts in a zip-top bag. I used Wilton Vibrant Green melts for these guys. Melt them according to the directions on the package.
Once your candy melts are all nice and melty, snip off one corner of the bag. Pipe out a blob shape and then fill it in with the candy melts until you’re happy with the way it looks. Place a lollipop stick at the bottom of your blog, making sure it’s fully covered by the candy melts.
If your candy melt blobs aren’t smooth on top, just bang the baking sheet on the counter until they even out.
Then, just drop your eyeballs onto the blobs! {That’s easily one of the weirdest sentences I’ve ever written in my life.} The crazier, the better. My 7-year-old helped me make these, and he thought putting the eyeballs on was one of the funniest things he’s ever done.
Let them set, and that’s it! You have your super cute little monster lollipops! If you wanted to get super fancy on these, you could use food markers to draw on mouths, fangs, or other facial features, but I think they’re perfect as is.
