Remember how Sunday was Mason’s birthday? And I made him a monster truck cake? Well, today we had a little party for some of his friends from school. And, much to Dave’s chagrin, he decided he wanted a Frozen birthday party.
Dave was all stressed that it would be all princess-y, but I was going more Olaf than Elsa and Anna.
I seriously had so much fun with this party! For colors, I went with white, blues and silver. I ordered the Olaf piñata {the one I ordered is no longer available, but this one is similar} and giant Olaf balloon from Amazon. The other Olaf balloon I got at Wegman’s, and I got the plain latex balloons at Target. I filled them up with the helium tank I got for Mason’s party last year. I got the blue Sixlets and gumballs at Target as well.
I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to steal it. Instead of water, the kids could drink melted snowmen! They all thought that was hilarious. I got those Olaf plates at Five Below — they have an AMAZING selection of Frozen stuff. Most places {Party City, Target, Walmart} only had Elsa and Anna plates and napkins, but Five Below had a ton of just Olaf stuff.
I decided to go simple with most of the food, so I ordered a kids’ finger sandwich platter from Wegman’s. And they suddenly became “We Finish Each Other’s… Sandwiches”. I was very pleased with myself when I came up with that idea, because it made me giggle. And sing “Love is an Open Door” every time I looked at them. {We watch a lot of Frozen in this house…}
Again, to go simple, I just got a veggie tray for Sven’s Carrots {and other veggies!}.
I saw these Utz Cottontails white cheddar cheese balls at Walmart and knew right away that they would become Snowballs.
Now. I know Elsa didn’t have a magic wand. But I was running out of ideas, so the Oreo pops {golden Oreos dipped in light blue candy melts, sprinkled with pearlized sugar}, became Elsa’s Magic Wands. This was the one thing I thought was kind of a stretch. But the little girls at the party were quite pleased, so that’s all that really matters, right?!?
To make these icicles, I just dipped pretzel rods in white candy melts and sprinkled them with more of the pearlized sugar.
This was my very favorite part of the party, and I think it was the kids’ as well. I made a “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” station. I put mini powdered donuts in the middle, and surrounded them with candy eyeballs {eyes, duh}, chocolate chips {buttons}, orange Mike & Ike’s {noses}, pretzel sticks {arms}, and mini marshmallows {feet}. The kids all had so much fun making their Olafs.
All in all, I think it was a super fun party, and it was really pretty easy to put together. As I was putting Mason to bed tonight, he said, “Mom, thanks for my Olaf party. It. Was. AWWWWESOME.” And really, that’s all that matters.

I really liked all your ideas. Can you tell me what you did for favors for the boys?
