If you have someone in your life who loves to cook and/or bake, you can’t go wrong with one of the gifts in this Gifts for Cooks and Bakers gift guide below.
1. Instant Pot – We finally jumped on the Instant Pot bandwagon a few months ago, and we absolutely love ours. If you’re not familiar with it, it is a programmable pressure cooker that can also be used as a slow cooker, rice cooker, sauté pan, steamer, and yogurt maker. It speeds up cooking, preserves more nutrients in the food and saves energy as well. We easily use ours 2-3 times/week. Purchase an Instant Pot here!
2. KitchenAid Stand Mixer – I got my new KitchenAid last year for Christmas, and it was one of my very favorite gifts. The color is absolutely gorgeous — mine is cobalt blue, but there are well over 40 colors to choose from — and with so many accessories and attachments available {click here to check them out!}, you can use it for practically all of your kitchen tasks. Purchase a KitchenAid Stand Mixer here!
3. Le Creuset Dutch Oven – Now, I’m not going to lie. A Le Creuset Dutch Oven is no joke. It’s an investment. But I will tell you, the quality is incredible, and the way that they can go seamlessly from the stovetop to the oven and back is pretty much amazeballs. Plus, you can get them in so many different colors, you can get one to match pretty much any kitchen! If you know a serious cook, this is the big gift for them. Purchase the Le Creuset Dutch Oven here!
4. Gallon-Sized Mason Jars – I use these on a shelf in my kitchen to hold flour, sugar and oatmeal, and they are probably the item I get asked about most. I love how much they hold and how sturdy they are, and I would have way more than 3 of these if I had room! Purchase some Gallon-Sized Mason Jars here!
5. Adjustable Rolling Pin – This item is actually on my wish list this year. I am hopeless at rolling out cookie doughs and pie crusts evenly, but the removable rings allow the rolling pin to be held at a particular height, leaving you with a perfect, even-thickness crust or dough every time. Purchase an Adjustable Rolling Pin here!
6. Nora Fleming Stoneware and Minis – If you aren’t familiar with Nora Fleming products, I’m going to apologize right now, because you are likely to become obsessed. They are a line of serving dishes and home items that each come with a little hole, in which you can place a mini – a small decorative element that can be changed out according to whatever occasion, mood or season it may be! I have an ever-growing collection of these, and I will not stop until I have gotten every. single. one. Purchase a Nora Fleming stoneware item here, and purchase Nora Fleming Minis here!
7. Sous Vide Cooker – If you’re not familiar with sous vide cooking, it’s a method where food is cooked, usually in some type of vacuum sealed bag, in temperature-controlled water. What this means is that the food is cooked slowly and evenly, and can only get up to the temperature of the water. It means no overcooked, burned edges or dry middles or charred outside and bloody inside. It’s perfectly cooked, every time. We use our sous vide cooker all. the. time. And it makes pretty much the best steaks of all time. Purchase a Sous Vide Cooker here!
8. Staybowlizer – This is another Christmas gift from last year, and I will be honest, I wasn’t super excited about this one. Until I used it for the first time. It kept my metal mixing bowl in place on my counter so well that I could mix with just one hand! Love the way it works for bowls of all shapes and sizes, too. Purchase the Staybowlizer here!
9. Al Dente Pasta Timer – I know, I know… there’s no absolute need for this in anyone’s kitchen. I mean, who doesn’t already have a timer? But, come on. Look how cute he is. And he sings when your food is ready! That would make anyone happy. Genuine need or not, I kind of need him in my life. Purchase the Al Dente Pasta Timer here!
10. Nesting Measuring Cups – I don’t know if it’s because my sister lived in Moscow for a while and brought a ton of these back or what, but I have a thing for matryoshka dolls — those cute little Russian nesting dolls. I can’t even handle the cuteness of these nesting measuring cups. Such a fun combination of form and function! Purchase the matryoshka Nesting Bowls here!
11. Microwave Bacon Cooker – Ok, so you’re going to have to trust me on this one. My in-laws got us one of these a while back, and I wanted no part of it. Because, microwave bacon = ewww. But then I tried it, and it totally blew me away, and now I hardly ever cook bacon any other way. You just drape the bacon slices over the edge and pop it into the microwave for 30-60 seconds per slice, depending on how crispy you like it. The fat drips down into the saucer and the bacon gets super crispy and delicious. Seriously, trust me. I would never attempt to steer someone wrong when it comes to bacon. Purchase the Microwave Bacon Cooker here!
12. Fortune Cookie Jar – I love functional items that make me laugh {see previous suggestion of Al Dente Pasta Timer}, and this one totally cracked me up. It’s so stupid, it’s funny. And, honestly: who out there ISN’T made happy by cookies?? Purchase the Fortune Cookie Jar here!
13. Gourmet Sea Salt Sampler – I love finding easy ways to add fun flavors to different dishes, and gourmet salt is such a great way to do that. The ones in this collection each have unique flavors, textures and grains. Pair it with this salt-focused cookbook for an even better gift. Purchase the Gourmet Sea Salt Sampler here!
14. Bamboo Cookbook/Tablet Stand – I don’t know about you, but trying to balance my phone/tablet or cookbook while I’m making something is a huge pain in the arse. A cookbook/tablet stand like this one is totally on my wish list this year – and this one is so pretty it can stay out on the counter all the time! Purchase the Cookbook/Tablet Stand here!
15. Bluprint Classes – Is there a particular type of food your recipient has always wanted to learn how to make? Or a baking technique they’ve always dreamed of mastering? Get them a Bluprint membership and they can learn how to do it! Bluprint offers over 1,000 online, go-at-your-own-pace classes in dozens of different categories, including cooking and baking. I have taken over 20 different Bluprint classes myself, and I have absolutely loved each one of them. Browse the Cooking and Baking Bluprint Class Categories here!
16. Cake Stand – Cake stands are such a great gift, because they can be used for so much more than cake. In fact, I use cake stands at least once a week, and the vast majority of time, there’s no cake in sight! You can use them in the bathroom for toiletries, in the bedroom for a jewelry stand, in the kitchen for spices, and for serving pretty much anything you can think of. Purchase this Cake Stand here, and browse Amazon’s selection of highly rated cake stands here!
17. Sushi Push Pins – Just because. Because everyone could use some push pins, and because these are adorable. That’s why. Purchase the Sushi Push Pins here!
18. Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner – I don’t know about you, but my microwave can get nasty, and I will be thrilled with anything that makes cleaning it even easier. And this little lady cracks me up {maybe because my kids are all too familiar with this stance…}. Just fill her with vinegar and water, heat her up and wipe your microwave clean! Purchase the Angry Mama Microwave Cleaner here!
19. Shopping Cart – If you know someone who lives in a city, frequents farmers markets or tends to walk to the grocery store, a cute shopping cart is a great gift. This one has a waterproof lining and folds up super small when you get home. Purchase the Striped Shopping Cart here!
20. Kitchen Torch – A butane kitchen torch is one of those things that you think is super fancy and you’d never use (I mean, really, how much creme brulee does one person make??). But then you find out that they cost less than $15 and have so many uses that you might not have ever thought of. Purchase the Kitchen Torch here!
