I love kitchen stuff. Dave and I crack up every year at Christmas, because about 80% of what we end up getting each other for gifts is kitchen- or food-related. Sometimes, we even get each other the exact same thing {like last year, when we each bought the other a set of sphere ice molds. We love our alcohol in this house…}.
So just in case you have similar people in your life, I decided to share with you the kitchen items that I cannot live without, as well as the items that are on my wish list this year. Here are 20 great gift ideas for the cook and/or food lover in your life!
My Kitchen Must-Haves
I’m not entirely certain how I managed before I had my KitchenAid Stand Mixer. It is invaluable for when you’re doing tons of baking, or making things like meringues or icing that needs to be mixed for long periods of time.
We use our Programmable 6-Qt. Slow Cooker all. the. time. I especially love it during crazy sports season, when we have practices and games pretty much every night.
I know it might seem weird to have a stand mixer and a Hand Held Mixer on this list, but as much as I love my stand mixer, sometimes it’s easier to just whip out the little mixer instead.
Silpat Baking Liners are fabulous for cookie baking and candy making. I use mine every time I make toffee. It makes any baking sheet non-stick, and is a cinch to clean up.
You’re making cookies, and you need your 1/4 teaspoon. You pull out your measuring spoons, and of course, the 1/4 teaspoon is the only one missing. Is that just me, or does that happen to everyone? These Magnetic Measuring Spoons are awesome because a little magnet in the center holds them all together in one cute little stack.
If you bake, even occasionally, you need a Cookie Scoop. I use mine for cookies, obviously, but also for cupcakes, pancakes, and muffins. It’s a super easy way to ensure that all of your goodies are the same size, which means they’ll all bake evenly.
I love springform pans. I use them to bake cakes all the time, because there’s no stress about whether or not it’s going to come out right. You just unclip the side, and pop it right out.
We use these little 4.5″ ramekins all the time. They’re great for baking, but you can also use them as prep bowls, sauce dishes, dip servers … there’s no limit.
My parents got us a set similar to this Pyrex Portables Storage Container Set, and it is awesome. We use 9×13 pans multiple times a week in our house, and this set is great because it also includes a carrier and a lid, as well as some hot/cold packs, to make it super easy to take a dish along with you to a friend’s house or to a tailgate.
Here’s the funny thing about this Keurig Elite Brewing System being on my must-have list: I don’t drink coffee. But we use our Keurig for a ton of other things besides coffee: hot chocolate, tea, iced tea, hot water… the list goes on and on.
My Kitchen WishList
I don’t even know that I need to explain why I want this Pure Komachi II 9 Piece Cutlery Block Set. I mean, look at it. How can you be grumpy in a kitchen with that on the counter?!?
This 4 Piece Prep Bowl Set might look like mixing bowls, but they’re actually prep bowls that can also be used as measuring cups. How cute!
Um, it’s a cutting board. Shaped like a pig. I have cutting boards, but I want it anyway. Because it’s shaped like a pig. Adorable.
We watch Top Chef all the time in our house. And every time Padma says “Please pack your knives and go,” it makes me want to have my own set of knives in a bag. With this Tri-Fold Knife Bag, I can have that. Even if I don’t really have my own knives…
Lord knows my kitchen {along with the rest of my house} could use some organization. I like that this 3 Piece Chalkboard Canister Set is opaque, which makes things a little neater, but it has a cute little chalkboard label so you can see what is inside.
I literally gasped out loud when I saw this Non-Stick 3 Tier Cooling Rack. What a genius idea. You should see my kitchen when I start getting all Christmas cookie crazy. Cookies on every horizontal surface. This would help so much I can’t even explain it.
I want this Rachael Ray 2 Piece Open Baking Dish Set pretty much just because it’s orange and cool looking. That’s all.
We actually don’t have a food processor in our house. I know. Crazy. We have a Ninja, which we thought was going to work like one, but it doesn’t really. I love the blender part, but the processor bowl isn’t my favorite. I really want a regular old food processor back.
We’ve had our dishes since we got married, and we’re getting kind of tired of them. I love how bright and cheery this Round & Square 16 Piece Dinnerware Set is.
I use a candy thermometer all the time, but the one I have now is just awful. It’s impossible to read, and it’s really inaccurate. This would be a great stocking stuffer!
So there you have it, my friends! Hopefully this list gave you some inspiration and ideas for Christmas gifts for the food lover in your life!
