Hi beautiful people! I’m Dina from Buttercream Bakehouse, and I am here to guest post today for my fellow blogger friend, Jenn. I know you have swell taste buds if you are hanging out at Endlessly Inspired, so today’s post is going to be a real treat for you. Have you ever heard of Krispy Kreme Ice Cream Sandwiches?
Yep, that’s right.
A treat made with my favorite donuts, you know the light and airy glazed donuts from the famously sweet donut shop everyone knows and loves. Then sandwiched together with a mound of vanilla bean ice cream, smothered in chocolate chips and drizzled with chocolate sauce. It’s bad and I know this. It’s sinful, it’s shameful and it’s totally unnecessary. I am sorry.
But’s it’s just too good not to enjoy.
There really isn’t much of a recipe to this delectable bite. The deliciousness is totally self explanatory.
Take two glazed Krispy Kreme Donuts. You can purchase them at the grocery store or at a Krispy Kreme shop. Lay one donut on a paper towel ( this is crucial because this baby is messy).
Next, take a large scoop of your favorite ice cream. I used Breyers vanilla bean flavor. Any flavor will work. That’s the beauty of this no bake, simply delicious treat. It’s totally customizable and fun to make. Sandwich the ice cream with another krispy kreme donut and press down lightly. Quickly sprinkle the sides with chocolate chips, sprinkles, candy or nuts.
Finally, drizzle with chocolate sauce. Even better, purchase chocolate dipped krispy Kreme donuts. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for later or indulge immediately before it melts.
Easy, delicious and totally needs to be on the neighborhood ice cream truck. Hands down!
Happy eating! – Dina, Buttercream Bakehouse
