Yep, I’m starting a blog. Well, another one. I used to have one about our kids that I started when my oldest son {now 7} was about 15 months old, so out-of-town friends and relatives could keep up with what was going on with him. I loved doing it, but ironically, the more kids I had, and ostensibly the more news I had to share, the less time I had to blog. And, once Facebook rolled around and I found myself posting pictures and updates on there, I realized that the blog ship had sailed.
But this blog isn’t going to be about my family. Or all about them, anyways. {I mean, I’m a mom – I’m going to talk about my kids from time to time.} Plus, they’re cute, see?
This blog is going to be about quick, easy, inexpensive, and fun projects – crafts, decorating, cooking, baking, and lots more – you can do around your house.
I am always posting pictures of my various creations on Facebook, and people seem to really like them. Sometimes, like in the case of some of my Elf on the Shelf ideas and the pencil cake I made from a Food Network Magazine recipe for David’s first day of school last year, people actually copy them!
Now, that being said, I am so not a “ooh, check out how awesome and talented I am” kind of person. In fact, my husband will tell you that I am just about the worst compliment-taker in the universe. I had a friend tell me recently that I am the most creative mom in town, and I thought that was ridiculous. I mean, most of what I do is inspired by other people!
Then it hit me: maybe those people don’t think of themselves as creative or imaginative either. And, maybe I could actually inspire some people the same way I am inspired by others.
So, that, my friends, is a very round-about way of explaining why I am starting this blog.
You can find out more about me here. To make sure you don’t miss anything, you can click those cute little pictures up over there to the right and follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. And if you click the one on the bottom right, you can sign up for my RSS feed and be notified whenever I post something new!
I hope you’ll be inspired by some of what I do, and I hope you’ll share some ideas with me as well. I look forward to having some crafty fun with all of you!
