Oh my gosh, you guys.
I mean, OHMYGOSHYOUGUYS!!
It’s October. Which means it’s Halloween month. Which means it’s time for my 31 Days of Halloween!!
YAY!! I am so excited, I can’t even handle it. This whole month, I will be sharing Halloween tips, tricks, tutorials and recipes for the cutest, spookiest, creepiest and most fun Halloween goodies ever. I’ll be getting help from some of my favorite blogger friends too, so you’ll get to be introduced to some fabulous new blogs!
To start everything off, I am going to show you how to make these insanely cute little Pretzel Monsters.
Can’t you just about die at the cuteness??
They just make me giggle. I keep going back and forth between thinking they look like spooky little screaming zombie monsters or like adorable little laughing Muppets. But either way, they’re ridiculously cute and so, so easy to make.
And they use one of my favorite ingredients ever, candy eyeballs.
I saw a video on Facebook recently that gave me the idea for these {and of course I can’t find it now, so if you know which video I am talking about, or if you’re the one who created it, please let me know so I can give you props}, but in the video, they actually dipped the pretzels in chocolate themselves and then added the eyeballs.
Yeah, that’s too much work for me. And it’s messy. So, just: no.
I started with a bag of chocolate covered pretzels {note to self: when purchasing chocolate covered pretzels for a blog post, HIDE said pretzels from children and husband so you don’t have to be mean mom and say “NO!!!” when your people are constantly asking, “Can I eat these?!?!?”}, piped a little bit of red candy melts into the “eye sockets” and stuck a candy eyeball in there.
That’s literally all there is to it.
I made this entire batch in about 10 minutes, tops. With pretty much no mess whatsoever.
It’s fun to vary the eyeballs a little bit, and maybe make them go a little wonky-eyed. And, bonus: no biggy if you don’t get them in there perfectly. It gives them even more charm.
Wouldn’t these be fun for a Halloween party or a school Halloween snack? Because who doesn’t love eating pretzel monsters??
