Sweet & Salty Popcorn Snack Mix

Sweet and salty is one of my favorite flavor combinations ever. I literally cannot get enough of something if it’s a little bit sweet and a little bit salty. I can gorge myself. It’s not pretty.

So when I decided that I wanted to make a little snack mix to use up the rest of a 4-foot-tall bag of Sam’s Club popcorn {it’s not really 4 feet tall, but it feels like it’s never ending. I swear it’s somehow managing to regenerate itself inside the bag.}, I decided to add some sweet in there. 

Oh, and it’s delicious, people. Dee-freaking-licious.

The beauty of this little popcorn snack mix is that you can customize it however you want. I pretty much looked in my cupboards and grabbed out whatever I thought would be good in here. I added pretzel sticks, mini M&Ms and peanuts, but you could use whatever you have on hand. 

I also used green candy melts in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, but again, you could use any color candy melts you want — or if you’re feeling minimalistic that day, just stick to white.

Whatever you do, I guarantee you it will be delicious. And addicting.

And if you eat the whole thing, you can’t blame me. Consider yourselves warned.

Sweet & Salty Popcorn Snack Mix

A quick, easy and delicious sweet and salty snack with pretzels, popcorn and peanuts.

Ingredients

  

• 4 cups popped butter-flavored popcorn
• 1 cup white chocolate or almond bark {I used Wilton white candy melts}
• 1 1/2 cups broken pretzel sticks
• 1 cup peanuts
• 1/2 cup mini M&Ms
• 3/4 cup green candy melts

Instructions

 

• 1. Place popcorn in a large bowl.
• 2. Melt white chocolate according to package directions. {Or, check out this great tutorial on how to melt white chocolate.}
• 3. Pour melted white chocolate over popcorn and stir until completely coated. Spread on a baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment paper. Try to spread evenly and separate any large clumps. Let cool until set.
• 4. Meanwhile, melt green candy melts according to directions on package.
• 5. Sprinkle pretzel pieces, peanuts and M&Ms over white chocolate-coated popcorn and drizzle with green candy melts. Stir to evenly combine.
• 6. Let set, then break up any large pieces. Enjoy!!
