Ingredients

  • 2 packages Nestle Rolled & Ready Sugar Cookie Dough
  • 3 Tbsp meringue powder
  • 6 Tbsp water
  • 4 c sifted powdered sugar
  • Green food coloring
  • Food coloring markers
  • Snowflake sprinkles {optional}

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a 3-4" cookie cutter, cut circles out of 4 sheets of Rolled & Ready Cookie Dough. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until barely beginning to brown on edges. Cool completely.
  • 2. To make royal icing, beat meringue powder and water together until frothy. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat for 7-8 minutes. If icing is too thick, add in more water, 1/2 tsp at a time. If icing is too thin, add powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp at a time.
  • 3. Spoon out a small amount of icing into a bowl and tint it green. Spoon both the green and the white icing into piping bags or zip-top bags. Snip off a small corner of each bag.
  • 4. Start by piping a wavy line across the middle of the cookie to make your hill. Then pipe around the rest of the circle to make an outline. Fill in that outline with white icing.
  • 5. Pipe two circles on top of one of the hills for a snowman. Next to him, pipe green icing in a widening zig-zag for a little Christmas tree.
  • 6. If desired, adhere snowflake sprinkles to cookie using small dots of white icing. Let cookies dry for several hours or overnight.
  • 7. Use food coloring markers to draw on eyes, buttons, nose and arms.
